When buying ungraded (raw) baseball cards, the condition of the card is your primary concern. Here are some minimal guidelines that affect a card's grade. Centering: Both the image (card front) and the text (card back) need to be as centered as possible. Color: Make certain the colors are bright and not faded. Corner Sharpness: Any cornor damage, however minute, will lower the grade. Abrasion: Look at both the surfaces and edges of the card.
